Current Practice: Buckethead — Goblin Shark

Yes I still play the guitar. And I got fascinated by this quite unknown guitarist called Buckethead. He is, as you might hear, an experimental, metal(hard rock guitar player — a style that fits perfectly in my usual listening behaviours. After the songs Soothsayer and Night of the Slunk, this one is the current song I cope with. Practice, practice, practice.…

Designed by Apple in California (37signals) ➟

What’s great about this phrase is that it’s powerful on more than one level

[…]

Designed by Apple in California is usually presented dramatically and in isolation. Often you see it after opening a flap or unfolding a panel. It stands alone as a single line of type on a solid field. There is never anything that distracts from it. The early cube-shaped iPod packages were the best at this. You’d remove the sleeve, unfold two panels, and there it was. The next fold revealed the device. That I still remember this sequence says a lot about how powerful the experience was.

Back to the web

I am back. Yes that is right.

I apologize for the last weeks, in which I was not able to post some new stuff here, because of a stupid operation, private matters, a new project and school stuff. But from now on there will be new articles here still showcasing the best of the web that I know. Have fun, keep moving and thanks for reading my blog.

Patrick Rhone: A writing advice (to my younger self) ➟

Focus on writing well. Read as many posts and books on writing as you need to learn the craft without letting it distract you from, well, writing. Because, after a certain point, no book or post or advice will ever help you as much as putting those words down.

[…]

Also, ignore the numbers. Ignore the audience. Ignore the fact that, for a very long time, no one may be reading. Just make sure that you are. Be your own biggest fan (when warranted) and harshest critic (when warranted).

Thank you, Patrick. This text really helped me a lot. And so it will help you, if you take your time and read through it.
